Make a Difference Monday - Child Life Doll

Sitting at the sewing machine over the weekend I started to think about a way that I could make some kind of a difference for people doing something I really love to do (sewing!). I started thinking about our sweet little niece who was so perfect she didn't need to stay on this earth for very long, and the project her mom organized for what would have been her first birthday. Her goal was to donate as many blankets and quilts as possible to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. At the time, I got onto their website to find out what quilt dimensions they asked for and realized that they had a large list of things people can donate to help the kids who stay there. One of the things on that list was a child life doll and a hospital gown for it to wear. That project matches quite well with what I am looking for because it can be done on my sewing machine, and is something I can do even with the demands of a 5 month old and 23 month old! I have decided to make one for each month of the year (and more if time will allow) and donate them to the hospital right before Christmas. This will be a fun project that I would love to do together with any of you who have the time to do it, and I know that every donation they receive is greatly appreciated. The day after our step sister took the blankets to the hospital, our stepmom went up to see if she could get a picture and they told her that they had all already been dispursed. So for anyone who wants to do the project with me, here is the link to the pattern, and I would love to see pictures or hear about your experiences! http://intermountainhealthcare.org/hospitals/primarychildrens/Documents/Child_Life_Doll_and_Gown_Pattern.pdf
